Jonathan’s first song on Singapore Idol last nite..Gosh did he touched many hearts outta there..everyone who was at Indoor Stadium was just drooling and admiring him and each gal was just imagining that Jonathan was singing just for her…Well, i myself was totaly mesmerized by him..Chasing Cars was like one of my fav songs tho it was kinda sad..hearing him sing jus created some butterflieys in my stomach…But well, he did not win…Hady won..Well, my colleagues did mentioned that Hady would win and Jon wont..So is this another one of those last season Spore Idol…Read somewhere that going into the finals with remaining two guys..one malay and one chinese and the malay will win..this practically just has history repeats itself..So wat went wrong? Wont deny that Hady was good and Jon was good as well..Well, if you could make it into the finals, it just jolly well meant something yea?
But i wonder..how would this Spore Idol last? For instance, Taufik was at Indoor Stadium last nite and he sorta walked past me with escorts..was wondering the familiarity of this guy who just walked past and realized that he was Taufik..My fren who was there with me even commented who this guy was as he looked pretty familiar..secondly when he walked past, none of the audience actually took a second look at him..everyone was jus fussing over Hady and Jon..So wat does this tell us? This merely tell us that fame doesnt last..esp in Spore..It had just been a year since Taufik was crowned Spore Idol and jus by second season, he was forgotten..
Hmm..i guess this happened for the American Idol as well huh? Who outta there remember the first season right to the last season winners? LIke what they always say..there are tons of trees out there in a whole forest and you need to be that special tree to stand out..and in spore..its really small..so i guess it makes more sense to go overseas to carve a name for yourself and when you are back, you jus earn a huge amount of fame! Jus like what the other Chinese singers have done..

Heh. I was glad Hady won because he has power vocal. Just look at how he emote the song “You Give Me Wings”, Jon really just pale in comparison. I think Hady would be better than Taufik. Let’s hope so. I can’t seem to see the appeal in Jon. He seems to be quite fake?
Anyway the local music scene is like this. You must have a mass appeal and company committed to market you. I guess that is what has been lacking?
