My 9th Driving Lesson
How time files and I am already in my 9th driving practical lesson! J On average, there would be 30 lessons so I am like 21 lessons away from the normal standard..;P Well, right now am on the road already and so far it had been a-okay. Nothing serious happened so far. No accidents! So no worry guys..except for the occasional honking and overtaking from the other full-fledged drivers on the road! Ahah..:P
Hm, am already in Stage 2 and so far it was okay. Instructors have been pretty much the same ones as well. No different ones except for the 2 occassions where I genna a nice and young instructor and the other occasion where I genna a cheeky uncle..ahaha..;P
I have yet to book for my TP since I have to wait to pass my FTT but again I was advised by one of the instructors that I should not book so early otherwise I would have to rush through my practical when the time comes near. So preferred is that I should go through Stage 3 first and halfway through then I can book my TP. A sound advice and I have decided to follow that as well. J Dunch wish to rush through my practical since I still not that zai in certain elements of driving so decided to be more comfortable and zai then I shall go for my TP test.
So far, I am pretty a-ok in most of the elements except one crucial element which is important and totally kills me lor..That is BRAKING. Seriously I cant seem to be able to get the braking momentum and my stopping distance is always so far away or too near..hee hee..You are supposed to brake early and hard, then clutch in while releasing the pressure on the brake gradually. Well, somehow I cant get the momentum so I always get the jerking brake..Shucks..now that sucks. Right now I am beginning to get the hand of it but seriously I think I would need to work harder on getting this part right!
Changing gears are fun! Especially when you get the hang of it! Hee hee..right now am jus so enjoying it and now I know when to change up and hey I enjoy it! But I hate it when you need to turn bend or slow down since you need to change down and I hate it when its 4th gear and you need to change to 2nd gear in order to make a turning etc. Coz firstly you have to slow down to change to 3rd before you can change to 2nd..Sighs..but once you get the hand of it it is fun! J And I didn’t know you have to change down when your speed decrease as well! Ahah..i was ticked off yday for not changing down to 2nd from 3rd when my speed fell. And I was nagged! Ahaha..so I finally remembered to change down after I was nagged at!
It was nice driving on a Sunday morning as compared to weekdays night where cars are like zooming like crazy! But Sunday morning has its pitfalls as well since there are so many pesdestrains crossing at pesdestrain crossing or simply jay-walking! And the most important ones to look out for would be the jaywalkers! Ahaha..;P So yday I was once again honked at at some stupid zebra crossing. As there was a long stream of people crossing and a few cars in front being L plate, traffic was slow. So I was stopping myself behind a van and somehow my car rolled backwards coz it was a minor slope. So immediately the red Kia behind me honked like real loud! I was like gosh..so I managed to hold onto my brake but guess what?! When it was time to move off, my engine actually stalled and my car died..sheesh..so there I go, trying to start up and once again I was honked like crazy! Not only by the car behind but also by the cars behind! Seriously people! Cant you just wait?! You all were L plate also mah..so being nervous, I started my car and once again my car died like 4 times in a row! I was like sheesh! And there my instructor go nagging at me yet again, “You see..genna honked already lah..still dunch want to move off huh..” So he nagged and me being nervous was like sheesh..so I told myself to take a break and stay calm and start my car slowly..so there I go..car started and I was ready to go..but hey people! It was nerve wracking since the whole world was like staring at me! Sheesh..these car drivers are so bloody impatient lor! And when the stupid red KIA drove up next to me, I just gave the stupid driver a hard stare and drove away..
Another incident was when I was honked at by one stupid lorry driver who was honking at me to move forward to cover up the space at the traffic light. Stupid lah. Only a short distance away will die meh! ;P
Was compaining like crazy to my instructor lor..like how ungrateful can these drivers be..honking at L plate where they themselves were L plate before lor..and he was like aiyah you think they will still remember after they get their licenses meh? Gosh! I just cant believe that these drivers are like that lor. Will a lil patience kill them? But the unbelievable is that my instructor can somemore explain the different kind of horning to me..ahaha..like friendly one, unfriendly one etc..gosh! he can still joke lor!
And another thing was that when he braked, he dinch tell me so I dinch clutch in and the engine stalled. The worst thing is that I genna scolding by him!
Instructor: Aiyoh..you always dinch clutch in when you brake lor.
Me: Aiyoh Sir..i wasn’t the one who brake leh. You always brake and didn’t tell me so I dinch clutch in lor. So the engine stalled lah.
Instructor: (laughing to himself). Aiyah, if I have to brake means something is wrong liao leh. If I don’t brake, then u sure will hit the car in front.
Me: Yah I know but at least tell me in advance mah. Then I can clutch in.
Instructor: Then you should pay attention to me also. If I brake, then you should immediately clutch in.
Me: (speechless)
Well, what can you say to that? Like that he win already lor. I sure lose one mah..* sighs * So I can do is “Okay lor..you win lor..” Although this instructor likes to suan me lots, hes nice lah..just doesn’t quite like to talk much..ahaha ;P So you can imagine the awkard slience when we are in the car..ahah ;P
Driving is very much about coordination, especially when it comes to Manual car..coz there’s a lot of work involved! Like changing gear when the speed is not there or when you need a higher speed..clutching in besides stepping on the brake while stopping..changing to a lower gear when you make a turning etc. Gosh! There are just so many work involved! But so far, everything is still a-okay. Once you get the technique, it is pretty much there and fun! J So right now am just looking forward to completing all my stages and get my license! J
Probably when I get my license, I might be getting a car..that is if I get sponsorship! Hee hee..;P
