Quote and Unquote “Taxi Drivers are the Real F1 Racers”

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

As part of my daily routine at work, I have to go through The Business Times and Straits Times to pick up news that are relevant to my company and industries happenings that will affect my company.

And since this weekend would be the inaugural F1 night race in Singapore, you bet the newspapers are swarming with news about F1 this week. Actually the coverage already started way back at the beginning of the month.

I came across these two editorials that caught my eye and I actually shared them with my colleagues. And we were talking about them during lunch today. They were written by reporters about how they felt about F1 and seriously quite interesting to read and ponder about. Some of the points raised by them are actually quite true!

One of the articles were titled “Pride in F1 Race Missing”. Sub-heading “Come on, folks, lets grab the chance to make the city a race icon.” Basically the whole article goes about the hype about F1 race, how its going to affect the economy blah blah blah. But the main point that was raised was how some Singaporeans actually thought that the race was next year instead of this coming weekend. Hmmm…this would only meant a set back for the ad agency who has been employed by the F1 Committee to do the publicity work. Even though majority of the Singaporeans knew that the race is this coming weekend, having a minority thinking that it is next year would mean that the publicity work done is not good enuff! So that means bad news for the ad agency that is being hired!

Some interesting lines caught my eye, quote and unquote:

“Going by the scuttlebutt floating around, here is what many Singaporeans think: This whole F1 deal is for tourists….Meanwhile, the lot of us will have…road closures, and a continuing hangover from the Lehman Brothers/ AIG/(insert bank name here) fallout.”

“I am not sure why. Perhaps it is the way all this has been touted. Week after week, all we keep hearing about are tourists, tourism receipts, fancy watch shows, fancier boats…Frankly, it can seem to some as if Singapore is throwing a giant party.

Only thing is, someone forgot to invite the Singaporeans.”

Hmm..something to ponder about? How true is that? Seriously, I think many of us have heard about the lavishing parties and exclusive events etc that are meant for like exclusive ones or read “INVITED GUESTS” only. Or unaffordable dinner meals/packages/hotel stays with exclusive views to the race that are totally unaffordable by an average Singaporean? Well, you might say that F1 is only for the rich and famous. Yes that is right but doesn’t that statement made by the editor “Only thing is, someone forgot to invite the Singaporeans.” Is pretty much true then? All the hype and glam behind this event is all for the rich and famous and tourists per se or millionaires who are flown from overseas @ all expenses paid, to our sunny island here.

And how many Singaporeans are worried about the road closures blah blah. Hey that is so true lor! I myself was thinking that I should totally avoid going out this weekend since the public transport will be crowded with peeps, no matter where you are headed for and my colleagues who drive, are also complaining right from the beginning of the week since many of the roads are closed for the construction of the tracks. Gosh.

And the second article to boot is basically poking fun at our friendly taxi uncles in their blue/yellow taxis. “Taxi Drivers are the Real F1 Racers” Haha.. How many of you are actually nodding your head to that sentence?! Basically the article is about how 25 of the vintage car owners are invited to test drive their cars on the F1 tracks on Sunday and how our taxi drivers should be the ones invited for the test drive and not these 25 drivers.

Quote and unquote:

“Clearly, di Montezemolo believes that Singapore’s street circuit will not allow for overtaking. Clearly, he has never been in a Singapore taxi.

There is not a narrow corner, hairpin bend or traffic jam that taxi drivers have not successfully navigated around the street circuit of this weekend’s inaugural SingTel Singapore Grand Prix.

Why didn’t the race organisers use taxi drivers instead? Not only do they know every bend, bump and pothole on the course, they could also offer insightful tips about the course itself.

What better chaperones than Singapore taxi drivers? They have been treating the streets along the race circuit like an F1 track for years.

Street circuits such as Monaco require the tightest steering and concentration. Drivers can rarely slow down and should never stop. When was the last time a Singapore taxi driver stopped in the CBD?

Formula One drivers will only stop on this course for tyre changes and after the finish line. Taxi drivers will only stop on this course for surcharges and after midnight.”

Hahaha..How true are some of these remarks? Personally I adore the line “They have been treating the streets along the race circuit like an F1 track for years!” I guess some of my friends and colleagues who drive would totally agree with that. Well, I am still on a L plate as all of you already know and I have my fair share of them since I take cabs often. And hey they really drive like they are F1 racers! The way they suddenly cut in your lane to catch you unaware when you are driving or just suddenly stop without any signalling! And have you ever taken a taxi where it is swerving really bad that you feel like you are on a boat that is on a rocky sea, only to discover that the taxi driver is actually dozing off on his wheels! Or the time when you are in a cab driven by a really really old uncle that is old enuff to be your grandpa and he seems to drive at a really slow speed that the bicycle next to you overtakes you and he seems to cut into other people’s lanes without any realization that he did and you kinda wondered if he can really see what is in front of him since he is peering so hard and straight thru the windscreen! ^_^

Well, that is so true of taxi drivers. Having undergone more treachous routes than dear Lewis Hamliton or Kimi Raikkonen. I believe if you ask them to race thru the route that the racers are supposed to, they would probably do a not too bad job! Having cut corners way too many times and more dangerous than the pros! Can you imagine all our Comfort Taxis uncles behind the wheels of Ferrari F1 cars?! OMG! I cant believe the kind of terror that they will bring to the roads! Ahaha..:P

Or they are already treating their Toyota Crown and Hyundai Sonata taxis as F1 race cars, our roads as F1 circuits and they themselves as Lewis Hamliton or Kimi Raikkonen! ^_^

My Bird-Day Wish List 2008

13th Oct.

Once again, it is here and this would only meant another digit to my age. * sighs * Seriously I have passed the mid-20s mark and very soon I will hit the big 3-0, which kinda sucks. Shucks. And it doesn’t quite help that I look like a bloody 20 year old! Well, looking young is good but hey not when you are my age and look like 20! Which also meant that attracting the wrong age group of the opposite sex! Ahah..:P Well, I still attract those guys who are like serving the army and that sucks. Coz seriously I am looking for someone to settle down and those boys..well, dunch think they are thinking much of settling down as yet! And the older guys? Well, coz I look like I am 20, most of them would not even consider me! Haha..;P Oh well, this is the confusing part. * sighs *

Anyways, enuff of that part. So once again it’s the big day! Hee hee :P  Not too sure if I look forward to it this year since last year, I have someone special with me to spend this day with even though he did do anything special nor buy me anything that I wanted. But with him spending his time with me on this special day was good enuff. :P  So this year? Well not too sure how it would be since no one special would be there to spend with me. But hey I have my bunch of friends! :)  Not too sure if I will be having a party or probably I just spend the day at home with mummy dearest who have undergone a long period of pain just to have dear Maddy on this earth. :)

So once again, here it is…MADDY’S BIRD-DAY WISH LIST 2008. The list to save all her friends from the headaches as to what to buy for her and also for Maddy to get what she wants :)

MADDY’S BIRD-DAY WISH LIST 2008

10) A to-die-for party attended by my bunch of frens! :D  (PARTY! PARTY! PARTY!)

9) A sports bag for me to use and carry when I go for my gym and golf lessons!

8) A bouquet of Gerberas to decorate my new office desk! (This will always be on my list without fail every year coz I simply love flowers! :)

7) A voucher for tattooing @ a good tattoo parlour (I need to touch up and extend my tattoo! :)

6) Wang Lee Hom concert tix!! :)  The tix doesn’t have to be too expensive and I don’t mind going alone..hee hee ;P *BIG HINT*! (He is coming to town yet again! The last concert of his which I went was 2 years ago, courtesy of a really sweet guy who fulfilled 3 of my bday wishes..* sighs *)

5) An all-expense paid shopping trip @ Pull and Bear and Mphosis. (Well, every year I have this wish and it never seems to come true! Haha..so this year, I have decided to limit it to 2 of my favourite shops so that the damage would seem lesser! ;P)

4) My Class 3P license! (I want to hit the roads soon! :)

3) My yellow Suzuki Swift Sports with sports rim, body kit and a really cool powerful stereo system! (As of today, mummy dearest said that she is okay with getting me a car! Yippee!! So I had better go get my license before she changes her mind..;P)

2) A nice, sweet and sporty bf who loves me for who I am and adores me to the max (hmm..this might be tuff…^_^)

1) Lastly, to be happy and cheerful everyday! :) :) (Decided that a bday wish list does not have to be all tangible.)

So tell me..How many wishes will come true this year? :)

“Eh, have you ever genna fined for road hogging before?”

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

As per usual went out for lunch with my colleagues on Friday. Being in a big group, we all went in 2 separate cars. It happens that one of the cars was driven by this colleague of mine and one of the senior managers were in that particular car. Heard this story from one of my other colleagues who was in that car.

Apparently the driver was so slow, driving at 40km/hr that the senior manager who was sitting next to him, actually asked him if he can go a bit faster as 40km/hr was a bit too slow and how he can follow up with us if he is driving at this speed. So that driver actually gave some reason like the petrol is expensive blah blah blah which explains he is driving at 40km/hr. So the matter was left to rest. Heard that the matter was again brought up when the senior manager once again couldn’t tahan the tortoiseness that he asked “Eh, have you ever genna fined for road hogging before huh?” Woo..that was a bitchy question! But hey it was funny.

Immediately I laughed out when that colleague of mine related the story to me. Hee hee..can you imagine that? The senior manager actually asked that which means that the matter is really indeed serious lor. And if someone can really ask that, then it must be damn serious! Woah.

Don’t underestimate me. I may be on “L” plate but I drive like I own a license!

Sunday, September 7th, 2008

Hmm..the title says it all. Hahaha..

My colleagues and gfs have been commenting to me that I would be a road hazard in future when I have my license! Ahha..Particularly my manager who has heard all the stories about my driving from me. He even said that he would NEVER be my first passenger after I get my license! Hah! How evils can that be hor? He was the one who encourages me to learn driving and doesn’t even want to take my car after I get my license! So much for the encouragement lor! ^_^

So what have I done so far? Ahaha..well I guess my blog entries said it all huh? :P Hmm..is it that bad? I don’t really think so leh..Kinda like what all my other driver frens, ex-bf and colleagues would do mah..ahah..but agains I am on L plate and I am supposed to be safe and like all other drivers and instructors said, all dangerous stuff should be done after I get my license and not when I am on L plate! Ahhaa :P

So what did I do again this time? Well, let’s say that I am once again driving like I am driving like I own a license and not on L plate! Ahaha..:P Last night genna my fierce instructor who told me off coz of certain mistakes I made. Hmm..he aint that patient and it is made worse that mine is like the 2nd last lesson of the day and he had a long day so that totally didn’t help lor. What happened last night was that there was this Porsche Caynne who was trying to park on the left lane. SO there I was on the right lane and another L plate just passed this Caynne in front. So immediately after that L plate passed, the Caynnee pulled up, wanting to park on the left. Me, being the L plate and thinking I drive a WRX, decided to squeeze through. Thinking to myself that once the Caynne pulled in at the first sight, I would drive right past it since there will be space available for me. So once it pulled right in, I immediately drove past it, trying to manoeuvre in not hitting the kerb on my right and the Caynne on my left. Seriously I don’t think I will hit but then my instructor immediately tilt my steering so that I don’t hit the Caynnee while I drove past it. Immediately he said “So tight and you still want to squeeze through.” Fierce. And I go was OOPS!

Sighs..Dont really know how to react so I just apologize lor. But he had this 50-cent look so I just kept quiet lor. Hmm..hes kidna fierce so I don’t dare to say anything.

Told my colleagues and they were like “Wa Lau..you are supposed to wait until the Caynne has parked mah.” I was like aiyah still got space mah and can go in one mah. AM just doing what my other colleague did lor. They were like going to faint! Hee hee..

Well, I do agree that that was a dangerous act to do but at that time, I really think that I could pass and the thought of stopping till the Caynne has parked has never crossed my mind leh! Oops..now that is bad coz I am supposed to think SAFE and ACT SAFE. But it seems like that thought has not occurred to me..hee hee..DIE! So i have to really train myself to think safe lor.

Seriously I think I will really be a hazard on the road.. hee hee..not that kind of road-hogging hazard like what other male drivers will sterotype all female drivers to be but rather those haphazard and reckless female drivers!! Ahaha ..:P

Hmm..lets hope my next lesson I will put some thought into SAFETY! : ) SAFETY as my top most priority and not trying to be fast and be smart! Hee hee ;P

“Hi do you remember me?”

Sunday, September 7th, 2008

Received this message the other day on Friendster:

“Hi, do you remember me?”

The first thing I went was Hmmm..who is this person who had just msged me? The name doesn’t quite ring a bell. Then I took a look at the profile but I cant see the profile since it is under private profile. Then I took a closer look at the picture and I realized that it was my driving instructor! Ahhaa..So there he was messaging me and the thing I replied him was:

“Hmm..are you my driving instructor from BBDC?”

Lolx. This is hilarious. Hmm..i think he texted me after our driving lesson on Tuesday coz it was kinda late when he msged me..Hee hee..

This is funny coz I never did expect him to find me on Friendster! :P

Wonder how funny it will be if he is on my Friendster and reads about all the entries that I wrote about him on my blog! Lolx.

Final Theory Test

Sunday, September 7th, 2008

Yippeee!! I passed my Final Theory Test! Yay!! Am so super duper happy when I saw the word “PASSED” on the computer screen at 5pm on Tuesday! Ahaha..:) Initially I dinch haf much faith in passing this stupid test coz I took like 3 attempts to pass my evaluation lor. So I dinch quite had a lot of hopes when I went for the test. So when I saw the PASSED, you cant imagine how I felt! Ahahha..:)

SO this meant that I can book for my TP already lor! YAY! But I have yet to book though..ahaha..i checked out the schedule and the earliest was in Nov but hey I am so not ready for it yet. I am just done with Stage 2 and it is kinda a long way to go before I can go for my TP test. Hmm..i want to be really zai before I go for my TP so I guess that would have to wait till next year before I can go for my test. Oh well, so there goes my dream of getting my license by end of year, unless a miracle happens but seriously I doubt that will happen..hee hee..I still have so much to learn and practise before anything else. And I really want to be good in driving before I go for the test. Moreover it is not cheap lor. So wasting $100 ++ near to a $200, it is not very cheap to just waste money like that. ;P So I shall wait. Probably till when I am completing Stage 3 then I will go ahead with the booking of test.

I am not really in a hurry to get the license even though having it early would be nice. : ) And to whether I will get a car after my license, hmmm…seriously I aint too sure about that. Coz right now I still feel a bit worried whenever I drive. So I don’t want to get a car and end up regretting getting it. So am still considering. Probably I go find someone who is nice enuff to let me drive and let me get used to it after I get my license before I decide to get my car. Hee hee..;P

But seriously someone with a manual car? Hmm..not many around these days lor. Sighs..All auto car so that sucks. Drove a fren’s auto car the other day and hey I really cant get used to it lor. There’s like no safety catch one. So once you put on D mode, your car will move already! Don’t have the coordination between your clutch and accelerator lor. So it is a bit unsafe! That is what I felt! ^_^ Still very much prefer my manual car lor! Ahaha..:P I don’t quite dare step on the accelerator coz I have no feel for auto car at all! Ahah..so I just stepped a bit a bit lor..;P

It was fun but it would have been better if it was a manual! J Hee hee..so at least I can test drive lor. But hey I must really thank this fren of mine that he is willing to let me test drive his new car! Ahah..:P He somemore want me to drive us home from outside the small road but I told him I have never driven an auto before so he changed his mind to under my block! Ahaha..Hey if it was a manual I would never hesitate to drive us back! Ahaha ;P

Oh well, now am just looking forward to the end of my Stage 3 and there I will go for my TP! :D

His Old Habits.

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Saw him on Skype just now and was messaging when he told me that he wants to video chat with me. Okay, no harm video-chatting since we are kinda history. So we videochatted and was telling him everything that happened in my life. Seriously I am just sharing my daily life with him like how my colleagues were teasing me and making me the butt of their sexual jokes..Hmm..not too sure if he thought that I was showing off to him or something but seriously I wasn’t. I was just sharing with him as a fren. And he said about people messaging him asking when he is coming back and he complained that they are all guys and not girls. Hmm..i wondered what hes trying to do?

He showed me a new Sony Ericsson phone that he bought. Hmm..seriously he is really not that well off even though he is in Taiwan doing his overseas stint. Coz he had tons of debts to clear and there he is buying new expensive stuff again! And moreover he still has yet to pay me for the money he borrowed from me few mths back. Hmm..i was taken aback when I saw the phone. Thinking that once again he had reverted back to his old ways of being a spendthrift. Seriously when he was with me, I was nagging at him all the time to stop spending so much money on unnecessary stuff and he listened to me. But hey I guess now after we have broken off, he has reverted back to his old ways. And it is his old ways that got him into serious debts coz he was spending so much money on his car without any worries. So right now I think it is back to his old ways again?

Gosh, so there I was nagging at him again as a fren to tell him to watch his spending habits since after he comes back, he has a huge burden on his shoulder. So it is better not to anyhow spend. All he said was “Yes I wont” but seriously is he even listening to me? I doubt so. There’s no one around now to nag at him to control his spending so I think he just spent whatever he wants. My god.

And the way he behaves. Gosh, it seems like he is behaving till there’s nothing wrong you know?! I am like hey we were deep in love once and now you are behaving like everything is okay already? Hm..i don’t even sense any sadness or remorse from him! I don’t even sense a disappointment or pityness from him that he had to let me go? My god.

Yes I have already moved on but hey at least if I can sense some sadness from him, I could felt that he was real and true about me back then and he was worth my love! But now, I sorta think that he is like playing around with me for that one year! My god.

Well all I can say to him now is “

I am no longer with you so there’s no one to nag at you anymore nor control your unnecessary spending. So please do control that habit of yours otherwise you will get into more serious trouble. Moreover you have such a huge burden to undertake when you come back so please do put your sense before you buy things or do anything stupid! You are already halfway clear of all your debts and you wouldn’t want to put yourself back into all those shit again.”

That’s all I have to say to him. Period.

2nd Encounter with My Young Driving Instructor (Part II)

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Incident 6

Was learning to make a U-Turn at the traffic junction and he was teaching me the on-off clutch technique. So I was like complaining that it is kinda tuff that I have to keep the clutch on and off when I am making the turn. SO was like totally complaining that manual sucks and it is tuff.

He: Well, who can you blame then right? Blame the stupid ex lor.

I: Ya lor. Blame him. Who asked him to break up with me before I get my license! Aiyoh its so tuff sometime that I feel like switching to auto lor.

He: Hmm..if you are in another group, I would have encouraged you to switch. But you are in my group so I do not encourage you to switch.

I: Hmmm..why not? Different groups do not mean anything mah. (Cheekily) Oh I know already! You want to see me somemore right? If I switched already, then I wont be in your group and you wont be able to teach me and see me lor..(then I laughed out loud).

I think he was so pai seh that he just kept quiet. Sensing that he was embarrassed so I said that I was just joking lah so asked him not to take it too heart.

I: Aiyah I was just kidding with you lah. Don’t get offended or anything huh. My colleagues also said that I buay yao pai one. Always said such stuff and make people pai seh.

He: Hee hee..well its good to be jovial and funny. Brightens people day up.

So immediately I changed topic coz I just realized how cheeky I was! Ahaha ;P

Incident 7

There’s this young and good looking instructor in my group as per what the other instructors tell me. Seriously I dunch really know coz I have not genna him before. So right now am just hearing hearsay. And I heard that he is pretty fierce also. Would scold students if they do wrongly lor.

He: Have you met Mr Au before?

Me: Mr Au huh? No I haven’t genna him before but I heard from the other instructors that he is quite fierce leh. Is he really that fierce?

He: Hm..no lah. He is not. But he is pretty good looking leh. Got style.

Me: Really? Issit? Dunch know leh. I haven’t genna him.

He: Yea he is. Much younger than me also. I think he is your age.

The conversation ended coz we moved on to some driving topic. Ahaha..But hey I have heard a lot about this instructor and I really wondered is he that good looking? I have seen some good looking instructors around before but not too sure how that Mr Au looks like!

Incident 8

Don’t know what we were talking about and I was just talking about my experience of going to the MINDEF for interview and telling him that the guys there were a bit buaya. So he asked me how do I define buaya and whether the driving instructors were buaya. Hmm..is that a trick question? Ahah..sensing where he is coming from, I just said that no comments! Ahaha..:P

And when we turned in back into the centre, there was this young instructor standing there guiding the traffic and my instructor actually said:

He: Wah that instructor not bad right? You want, i introduce you.

I: No want lah..dunch b silly. Please dont make me pai seh.

And the instructor outside was like looking at us strangely coz my instructor was laughing cheekily while i was so pai seh. He had the look “What is it?” Gosh..that instructor of mine really knows how to make people pai seh! :P

Incident 10

Cant really remember what happened that led to this but I began calling him Uncle! Ahaha..So I was like Uncle this and Uncle that. So when we changed over in the circuit, he actually called me Auntie! Sheesh! He said “Auntie, faster switch over. I am going to drive us back.” Me “Wei..what auntie? I am younger than you hor.” So while we were bickering, we were horned at by the car behind us. So he said “Faster lah Auntie, you walked so slow see what happened now. We are genna horned!” Wah..like that also can lor. Heh.

Then I met him inside the centre when I was topping up my account and he came over to talk to me. Hmm..so all the other students there were like Hmmm…like how come me and this instructor seems like we know each other for long. Ahaha..

Well, the whole session passed by quickly without me sensing it but hey it was fun having him to teach me. I see him more like my fren rather than an instructor.

2nd Encounter with My Young Driving Instructor (Part I)

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Remember the young driving instructor who taught me few weeks back on a Sunday morning? Well, I genna him again last Tuesday and hmm..what can I say? Ahaha..same thing. He is nice, opens the door for me and takes my bag for me etc. He even ensured of my safety when we switched over the seats along the main road! Making sure that I got into the driver’s seat before he went over to the passenger seat!

As usual, we chit chatted during the whole session about anything under the sun besides driving..ahaha..His lesson for that period was U-Turn and he taught me many things. As usual, his lesson was interesting and time flies. Well, his lesson was interesting so aint complaining about that. And a few incidents happened during these 100 minutes!

Incident 1

Well, I was supposed to check my blind spots whenever I made a turn and I always seem to forget it. So he kept staring at me and after I made the turn, he told me that I forgot my blind spot. So I told him yea I remember and he said that he was staring at me to remind me. But hey his stare was so intense that I felt so pai seh! So I avoided his stare! So I told him that I knew that he was staring at me to remind me but hey I was so pai seh lor. So I told him not to stare at me so long but rather just for a while to remind me coz I can get pai seh from his stare.

Incident 2

So we were driving along the road and I told him that I was ticked off my other instructors for dashing across red lights so he told me that I had better not. So we were at the junction and when the light turned red, I wanted to dash across but he told me not to and slow down. So I said why must slow down? Can accelerate and go mah. Still got time. He said aiyoh, you are at second arrow leh. Still have time to slow down and wait. I was like okay lor. And he was shaking his head and he said that he can understand why the other instructors ticked me. Ahaha..so was at the 2nd junction when the lights turned amber. I was like at half way between 2nd and 1st arrows so decided to slow down but he told me to dash across! I was like Huh? But must slow down and stop mah. He: Aiyah no time to stop already so just move lor. So I accelerated more and moved on. And the next junction, I dashed across even though the lights were turning amber. SO he was like “Aiyoh why you dashed across? Still got time to stop leh. I “Aiyah you told me to dash one mah.” He” No I didn’t I only meant the last one and not this one lah.” Oops..so he just kept shaking his head and said that I can only do that if I get my license already and not when I am learning or at test!

He somemore said that in future he will take a double look if he ever sees a yellow Suzuki Swift Sports dashing across amber lights! Hee hee..well I sorta told him that I want to get a Yellow Suzuki Swift Sports after I get my license and he even said that I cant get over my ex which explains why I am getting the Swift! Ahaha..well, I sorta told him about my ex coz he was asking why I learnt manual the previous time he taught me.

Incident 3

So after speeding past the red light, he decided to share with me a joke that his frens and him shared over the weekend when they drove up to KL. Apparently it was a dirty joke! So immediatedly sensing the dirtyness of it, I said:

“Aiyoh, you are telling me a dirty joke!Hmm..you are my instructor leh..And I am your student. How can you be telling me a R-A joke?!”

He: Aiyah we are at this topic of dashing red light mah. So I decided to share with you this joke lor.

I: I know but you are my instructor leh. How can you tell me dirty jokes? So weird lor..

But well he did continued with his joke..:P

Incident 4

While making a left turn and done all my safety checks, some stupid car from my right just cut in and I almost got into an accident. Luckily my instructor was quick enuff to step on the brake and steer my steering wheel away to avoid the whole accident. Thinking that I was at fault, I apologized but my instructor said that it was not my fault since I had the right of way. So it was actually that vehicle’s fault.

Me: His fault? Aiyoh then why dunch you horn at him?

Him: Hm..well I can only do one thing which is step brake. Which is safer? Step brake or horn at him?

Me: Well, you are an instructor so you can multi-task mah! You can do two things at one time. Step brake and horn at him also! Otherwise he will think that it is my fault leh.

All he did was smiled.

To be continued…

My Life @ Current Times

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

How do I spend my time recently? Well, as all of you would already known, I am learning driving so am spending a weekday after work and a weekend of mine going for my practical. Twice a week that is my schedule. :D
Besides driving, I am also learning golf with my colleagues. Actually I am not a big fan of golf or rather I am not really that interested at all. Majority of my colleagues are going for it since it was organized by the recreation club in the company, I thought hey why not just join in the fun? So I signed up for it at the expense of $230! Which is like I can book 4 driving practical with it! Oh well, so Tues is my golf night and so far I had been going for 3 out of 10 lessons and it had been alrights. Sorta managed to get my posture right the previous lesson and did managed to get some balls flying to the 50m! :D But hey dunch think that golf is easy..It is TUFF! The posture is seriously very important coz if your posture is wrong, hey there’s no way your ball can fly anywhere! I used to think that golf is so easy since it just involves swinging your body and hitting the ball, how tuff can it be? Gosh I was so wrong after I went for my lesson. It was tuff! Especially the backswing part coz hey you need to stand and position your arms and legs at a certain posture and go with the whole momentum then you can hit the ball! And the backswing is such a weird position! So extremely not used to it lor. But since I have already paid for it and at the expense of my 4 driving practicals, I might as well complete it :)
So besides golf and driving, what else am I up to? Well, nothing much. The usual. Shopping at times though am cutting down on that since I have to pump funds into my driving. And then beach on Saturday mornings and Vivo thereafter. Ahaha..:P Then would be telly or DVDs at night or the occasional partying J

And recently I have also been meeting new people. :) Kinda enjoying that coz seriously at this age, majority of my frens are like attached or married so you can no longer get them out during weekends just to hang out like younger days since they have to keep their bfs or gfs company. SO that sucks. So am just meeting new peeps to hang out with. To do sports or go to the beach together. And if I do ever find someone special from there, it would be a plus I guess. Not really looking for anything special but if it happens, it happens. That’s all I can say. : )

Oh well, am enjoying meeting these new people and it is always fun when you meet new people. :) Especially if they are interesting and strikes a certain level of chemistry with you. : )

So right now am just so enjoying my life! :) Making it fulfilling every other day and living it like nobody’s business. No more do I have to worry about how someone is doing over in Taiwan, whether he is okay and the fears of him cheating on me over there. Hah. And worrying about our obstacles-prone future. Now I feel so much more relaxed and carefree. Knowing that my future would not be so complicated! :) So probably what my gfs said are right, why get myself into such complicated situation where you can live life carefree and free of such worries? : )

I do really feel much happier now. : D
