Yet Again!

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

Went for my usual driving practical just now and boy do I enjoy driving! Hee hee..well as I have practically completed most of my stages, now its like more revision than anything else so was doing my circuit and went on 2 test routes as per the other lessons. Hmmm..parking still sucks as usual. I guess I really need lotsa practices to really brush up on the two parking man. Sometimes can then sometimes cannot. Inconsistencies! Sighs. The more sucky out of the two would be Parallel. Gosh that is tuff and think after I get my license I will NOT parallel park! Haha..:P

But well am glad that my instructor for the lesson was really nice. A nice and chatty uncle who was really patient as well. I guess at this stage, there is practically nothing much the instructor can teach since it is more of a revision stage and them correcting our certain techniques etc. So there he was correcting all my parking but hey it was fun having him teach me. : ) It was an enjoyable session.

Yet once again I was mistaken for a 22 year old. Gosh. This is don’t-know-how-many-times by my driving instructors already lor. The auto lesson which I had was also the same case where the instructor thought that I was still studying. And when I told him I was working he was shocked and checked back my allocation slip and was so surprised when I told him my real age! He thought I was 22! So this time round, the instructor had the same sentiments so when he looked at the allocation slip again, he was surprised also. Once again the comment was that I do not look like my age and actually look like 22! Hmm..gosh. Wonder how many times me gonna get that and seriously I think the other instructors would probably think the same of me as well! Hah.

And once again I am being matchmake by the instructor. Hm, I wonder this is how many time already lor. Seems like the instructors in my group all like to match make lor. Haha..When he found out my age and that I was single, he immediately told me that he would help me to advertise at BBDC! * Faints *

All these instructors are so funny lor when they try to matchmake me. They seem to be like in deep thoughts trying to think of the ideal guy whom they know for me..ahaha..So funny. But hey their efforts are very much appreciated by me. :D Yong Xin Liang Ku that’s what I would say.

And when I was just leaving the centre, I saw this not too bad instructor!

Haha..Oops. forgot that I have an instructor who might be reading this blog. (Instructor – well well well..you wouldn’t know who lor coz I myself don’t even know who he is! Hee hee..:P Will tell you if you do teach me. :P)

Anyways saw this not too bad instructor when I was just done with my lesson lor. He looks kinda young but again, you never know. Coz some of the instructors actually look like my age but they are actually in their 30s and some of them are even married with kids! Haha..:P So I saw him and was so pai s e h coz he caught me looking at him.  And I immediately looked away. :P

Hee hee..Actually it was like my second time bumping into him. The first time I saw him was when I went for my auto lesson. I was keeping my fingers crossed then that he would not be my instructor coz I would be so pai s e h if he was to teach me!

Hmm..i think he should belong to the auto group or something coz I saw him at the same area where I was learning my auto lesson. Hmm..aint too bad. : )

Not too sure if I will see him again tomorrow or even genna him for my auto lesson on Sat morning! Haha..i think I will be so pai s e h if he does teach me for my auto lesson lor. ^_^

Or probably I should go ask my instructor who he is! So at least I have a name to the face but yet again, it is a very vague description if I were to describe to my instructor lor..Ahaha..okay, I am being so ridiculous.

Well, aint too bad that I have an eye candy to look at when I go for my driving : ) Actually the centre aint too bad lah. Got eye candies one. But sometimes they are just so scary when they gather in a group and look at you. Very imidating! ^_^

If only they can stop staring. Are you hearing me Instructor? Ahaha..:P

But overall, they are a nice bunch of peeps even though they can be cheeky at times. Oh well, guys are always guys. haha..:P

Practice makes perfect! :D

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

Hmm…how time flies and I am already almost done with my driving lessons. Well not really since I am in the midst of my Stage 4 which has 4.02 and 4.03 to go and Stage 5.01 which is like a mock TP test. I am actually done with my Stage 3 including evaluation of all my circuit courses, including parking.

You all must have heard how I have complained about my parallel parking huh? Hm, my vertical parking aint that bad. Seriously it is actually easier than parallel. As my instructor puts it across to me, there isn’t so much movement to coordinate as compared to parallel. But then I still dinch do as well as I or my instructor expected me to. * sighs * Now that just sucks I guess.

However, I do realized that with practice, it helps! That would apply to my parking. : ) Remember how I complained so much about my parallel parking? Well, it is kinda improving right now with the lotsa practice that I had with my practicals. Right now I can actually get the car in much better and out much better as well. : ) And my vertical, well its like that lor. But hey practice does make perfect and I totally agree with that phase. Still remember how I totally suck when I first tried parallel and now with the practices, it is getting better. :) I believed with much more practices, it would become so much more better. : ) So hopefully I can pass my TP test! * Keeping my fingers crossed *

Was trying auto car the other day coz as a student of the school, I have to go for like 2 auto car lessons as part of the requisities for manual car for TP test. Hm, not too sure if that is a gimmick from the school to earn the extra $130 from their students but hey at least I have a go at auto car.  : ) Well well, I must say that it is really different from manual car totally.

Manual – Clutch in, 1st gear, release handbrake, biting pt –> off you go

Auto – release handbrake, step on brake, switch gear to D, release brake –> off you go

That is the huge difference and you must like always step on the brake to prevent accidental moving off by the car. Hm, that is totally different from manual since manual would have to remove the clutch then you can move off and at a super duper slow speed but auto is pretty fast I must say. Well, that is like the biting point of manual so it tends to move off after you release the brake.

Definitely auto cars are less troublesome as compared to manual since it only involves the accelerator and brake and you just have to always step on brake to slow down. And it is so much easier when it comes to the circuit, even parking! All you have to do is to step on brake. So basically there is no low speed control as compared to manual car and that saves your left foot from the tiredness. Hee hee..But wah, the speed is definitely scary man. Especially when you are going round a bend, it seems like there is no control! So much different from manual since you have to move on a low gear while going through a bend and you can feel the engine brake but for auto, there is no engine brake at all and you feel like it is very “loose” in that sense. I almost lost control of the vehicle when I was going through a bend which is TOTALLY SCARY!

And when you are moving at a fast speed and had to like totally stop, you have to step on the brake real hard. That is what happened to me when I was travelling on the road with a speed limit of 70km/hr! The traffic light just suddenly turns amber and since I was at the third arrow, I had to slow down and gosh, quickly remove my foot from the accelerator and move to the brake. Had to step on my brake like really hard so that the vehicle would totally stop. So there it goes screeching sound and way past the stop line! I can sense the other car drivers staring at me..hee hee..

Goodness. After that experience, I kinda felt that manual car is like much safer than auto man. So that probably confirms my confirmation for a manual car. And I am glad that I took a manual license than auto..hee hee :P Manual is troublesome but it can be quite fun after you learn the technique behind it :D

I still have another lesson for auto car which is sloted for Sat’s morning. Hm, I had a really interesting instructor from another group for my previous auto lesson and hopefully my Sat lesson would be an interesting one. Hah.

This entry is for him who has left a footprint in my life.

A month ago, we just got to know each other and how we got together even without knowing each other much.

Having taken this period to know each other better, we realized that hey afterall we might not be suitable for each other.

So we have decided to take a step back from each other and hope things will be back to the way they are before.

That might not be possible since the hurt has already been done even though it is not a huge damage.

I already sensed that we might not be suitable for each other right from the start.

You being a typical Leo, you are looking for someone sweet, and probably demure to pamper while me, i aint sweet, nor am i demure and just an independent me who practically speaks her mind.

At those times, i do wonder to myself on how do i fit into the picture of your life?

Still remember all those times when i kept asking why do you like me and how i do not fit into your type of girl that you fancy?

You always assured me that it does not matter and there is something that you like about me so i should not worry.

How things turn out differently for us after you had a talk with your friends and thinking things through.

I guess your frens’ words hold a much 100% more weight than what i say or just that reality had to struck you somehow or someway.

Well i am glad for your honesty even though i hated it.

And the more i hated it when you break all your promises to me coz i really dont like people who break promises.

I guess the situation really calls for it.

I thank you for all the wonderful times that you have brought me. All the laughter and joy that you have brought to my life during this one month.

The beautiful things and knowledge that you have shared with me. And the effort and time that you have taken to make my bird-day a special one for me.

It was a pleasure knowing all your friends and your family.

I wish you all the best in whatever you do in future.

How many of my bird-day wishes have come true?

The other one, well from someone who also used to hold a dear in my heart. Sweet of him to actually deliver right to my office (Hm, he was holding a dear place in my heart 2 weeks ago…hahaha..)

From him who had hurt me deep

From another him who has become history.

7) A voucher for tattooing @ a good tattoo parlour (I need to touch up and extend my tattoo! : ))

 NAH.

Seriously I have yet to receive this and seriously I don’t think anyone would give me this..hee hee..:P So I am so gonna spend on myself and do it on my own. Right now I am just looking ard for the right tattoo parlor to do it lor coz the one which I did mine @ Hereen was like long gone. So any recommendations peeps?

6) Wang Lee Hom concert tix!! : ) The tix doesn’t have to be too expensive and I don’t mind going alone..hee hee ;P *BIG HINT*! (He is coming to town yet again! The last concert of his which I went was 2 years ago, courtesy of a really sweet guy who fulfilled 3 of my bday wishes..* sighs *)

 NAH.

Haha..well, I have yet to receive any news on this as well. So I guess this is pretty much not realized. And am I going to spend the money to go watch? Well probably not. Hehehe..kinda spending a lot on my driving already lor so need to save money. :D Moreover I had already gone to my other favorite, David Tao :D who I felt might be a more worthwhile concert as compared! :D

5) An all-expense paid shopping trip @ Pull and Bear and Mphosis. (Well, every year I have this wish and it never seems to come true! Haha..so this year, I have decided to limit it to 2 of my favourite shops so that the damage would seem lesser! ;P)

 YESH! &  NAH.?

Hm, don’t really know whether I have this. My two favorite sistas, Sugababe and Joycee told me to go get something from Pull or Mphosis and they will pay for it.

Well, during my bird-day when I was still with that dear to my heart, he did gave me a $250 budget of shopping trip which I only utilize $40 from there..hahaha..and since now that is history I don’t think that would still stand but he gave me his psp in the end. * Sighs *

4) My Class 3C license! (I want to hit the roads soon! :) )

 YESH! &  NAH.?

Right now I cant be sure really..ahaha ;P

2) A nice, sweet and sporty bf who loves me for who I am and adores me to the max (hmm..this might be tuff…^_^)

 YESH! &  NAH.?

Well two weeks ago, I thought this wish had came true but right now at this very second, this wish has officially not come true. ^_^

1) Lastly, to be happy and cheerful everyday! : ) (Decided that a bday wish list does not have to be all tangible.)

Hmm..

At this moment, I don’t quite feel very happy nor cheerful. But hey I know I will be as time goes by. Just need to get past this hurdle coz it is not everything! :D And I so know I can do it. I have gotten past it so many times and even the previous time was so hurting for me, I was able to do it. So what is this time to me? Let just say that it just makes me stronger. :D

So besides all these, what additional stuff did I get? Well, I got many wonderful treats from many wonderful frens! :D I think I have like a lunch treat + Taka shopping voucher (I like!) from my dearest boss, a dinner treat + movie from one of my new found fren and also another dinner treat + kopi treat from my TP fren! :D hee hee..and I think there will probably be some more coming? Ahaha..well u know me lah..i am very good at asking people to give me treats! Ahaha..:P

And also someone dear then who made me a really wonderful sweet gift and letter telling me how he felt where at that time, I was really touched by what he did and said in the letter. Oh well, I guess that doesn’t quite matter now since that is all history.

So let me work hard towards those dreams that are not realized!! :D And I so can see my Class 3C coming my way!! Ahahaha ;P

“Um..do you need help with putting lotion on your back?”

Friday, October 24th, 2008

After weeks of non-existent visit to Sentosa, I have decided to drop by for some sun on Saturday and especially set my driving practical to be at 8am so that I have ample time to drop by the beach right after, around 9 plus! : )

So there I was, headed my way to the beach after my lesson ended at 9.45am. As per usual, I reached Vivo at about 10 plus which is almost the right time since I like going there early to avoid the afternoon crowd and needlessly to say, the shower crowd as well, and I would almost be gone when the clock strikes 2pm! ^_^

Hmm..Siloso beach is kinda like having some family day by this company which I don’t know which. It just titled “SP 08”. Initially I was thinking it as Singapore Poly but was reading the papers today and was wondering that SP might be short for Singapore Power.

Seriously I don’t really know but all I do know is that their family day was so huge that they covered like half of Siloso Beach, right after Café Del Mar. So basically everyone was like pushed towards the Rasa Sentosa side and that side was definitely more packed than usual. So there I was, unable to access my usual spot, decided to move further up to Rasa’s side since it is less packed and also less bvolleys flying in my direction!

So there I was, finding myself a cozy place, far away from the beach crowd and near where most tourists and suntanning peeps are.

Getting back to my usual practice of settling down with my towel and everything else and getting ready with all my lotions and stuff. As I was just done with all my rituals and setting my Ipod to my favourite music, I kinda sighted from my left blind spot that a guy was walking towards me after coming up from the sea. Hmm..thinking that he might be walking towards his area, I decided to ignore him but he actually walked up to me and spoke to me.

So he knelt and asked me something. Still on my Ipod, I thought he wanted to borrow my suntan lotion as I heard something about lotion. So removing my earphones, so that I can hear him better, I was like “huh?”

He: Um..do you need help with putting lotion on your back?

Me: (Looking surprised and shocked) Huh? Oh..no need. I am fines.

He: Oh its okay.

Then feeling pai seh, he walked away, towards the Rasa Sentosa at the back. But I guess he was really embarrassed with the reaction that he walked towards the back so that he doesn’t need to be pai s e h as there were like two guys next to me. One was like a photographer, taking a break and sitting under the coconut tree while the other guy who was a distance away from me was like suntanning.

Goodness! I was taken aback! Seriously this was like the first time that I was approached in such a manner. Well, I have been to Sentosa so many times to suntan and I had never been approached in such manner! Well, I have been like stared at and such by like bunch of army guys or just guys playing beach volley but have never been approached before! Those guys would like teasing and stared and said bye to me when I left but have never been approached! And moreover in such a ridiculous manner..ahaha..was telling my frens about it and they were saying that probably he wants to know me. Hm, well if he wants to know me and using that as a pickup line, then it is really sad and pathetic. And mind you, he is actually pretty cute. Not ugly or pervertic sorta looking and pretty cute. So when he came up to me to ask me such a question, I was like taken aback and shocked! Wondering how come such a cute guy can say such lame stuff? So the whole incident got me smiling and thinking to myself on how such guys can be so lame! Ahaha..:P

And when I was about to leave, I sighted another guy who was like walking in my direction. I dinch even gave him any chance as I just stood up and left. And after I walked away from my spot, he actually took a u-turn and walked back to where he was. Well, sensing something was wrong, I actually looked at him and he looked at me while he was walking back. And when he was back where his frens were, they seemed to be asking him and the whole group of them turned and looked at me..Hmm..wondered what would happen if I were a minute late. Ahaha..

Goodness. What a weird Saturday I had! I have been to Sentosa countless of times and never had such incidents happened to me. Now I really think that it is due to the spot that I was at! I was never at that Rasa Sentosa spot.

Did those guys spoil my Saturday morning at the beach? Well, they dinch. Actually I am pretty amused with the whole incident! And nowadays guys are just so daring! Even at the beach!

And I have also decided that no way am I gonna be there anymore to prevent any such weird and strange incidents from happening to me! ^_^

Guys are dumb asses.

Quote & Unquote - ‘If the Singapore track was a circus, the Ferrari team members were the clowns.’

Monday, October 6th, 2008

The past weekend was a major talkabout for everyone in Singapore, with road closures, tourists boosting our economy blah blah blah. Namely, the inaugural F1 race that was held in Singapore. It was the first for Singapore and moreover the first street night race in F1 history as well. After the event, there were like tons of reports praising how Singapore was awesome in hosting this race, blah blah blah.

I bet majority of us have caught the race on telly over the weekend and how everyone has witnessed our dear Massa making the crucial mistake of losing his top placing to Alanso and how Mr. Kimi crashed into the barriage that was sent up at his 5th lap. So there goes the winning of the leg of the race in Singapore for Ferrari.

And I bet everyone of us have also read about how Mr. Ferrari boss commented on our race track on Wednesday, ‘Ferrari boss blasts Singapore’s ‘circus’ track’. Seriously if you have read the article, you would think of how sour grapes this guy is! My god. I cant believe myself reading such comments from such a high ranking guy in Ferrari. Mr Luca di Montezemolo, that is his name actually made some lewd comments about us.

Quote and unquote from the article:

‘When we race on tracks which should be used for the circus, anything can happen including the spectacle of the Safety Car,’ Mr Montezemolo was quoted as saying in yesterday’s Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper.

“…before the race that street circuits and the lack of overtaking opportunities were not the right way forward for the sport.”

A track for circus? My god. You being the President for Ferrari actually made such comments? I was really wondering what Mr. dear Luca would say if Massa and Kimi came in top 3 as predicted by everyone else before the race started. I guess everyone was really pissed off with him after reading the article as today, there were some letters that wrote into the forum commenting on his remarks.

One comment made by one of the readers:

Last Sunday’s event here was the first Formula One night race and was held on a new track. As with anything new, the unexpected can happen. Even last year’s champion Kimi Raikkonen crashed out with just four laps to go, probably due to a lapse in concentration.

This shows that even the best can make mistakes.

What happened to Ferrari has nothing to do with the track. They only have themselves to blame. Felipe Massa, Lewis Hamilton and Raikkonen took the top three pole positions after qualifications.

The lack of passing chances on the ‘circus’ track practically ensured them podium finishes if nothing unexpected happened.

However, as Murphy’s Law says, what can go wrong can and will go wrong.

Was it a track problem when Nelson Piquet Jr crashed? Perhaps. But was it a track problem in the Ferrari pit stop when Massa drove off with the fuel line still attached? Definitely not.

The Ferrari pit was where the real circus was on race night.

What happened during Massa’s pit stop was simple human error, lack of concentration and poor team coordination.…

For Ferrari, it has nothing to do with the ‘circus’ of a track, as Mr Montezemolo described our circuit; and everything about Ferrari being a sore loser when it failed to win any points in this crucial race.

I wonder what Mr Montezemolo’s comments would have been if everything had gone uneventfully, and the three best-placed drivers on the starting grid had won as expected. “

But the best comment that I loved was made by a Mr. Chia Kee Tong who said “If the Singapore track was a circus, the Ferrari team members were the clowns.” Hah! I totally agree with that man.

If we have a circus track, then every F1 racer would actually be a clown! And that doesn’t exclude our dear Ferrari team as well. Till now I still cant believe what a sore loser Mr. Luca is. Making such comments about Singapore just because his team lost is totally uncalled for. That is really unprofessional. Where is the sportsmanship?? Just because you lost, you cant blame it on everything else that you cant control. And not blaming your own team? Well, I dont know if there is really a problem with them, especially with them not using the Lollipop man which has resulted in them having many technical mishaps during the whole race season. Probably it is time for him to think about this before blaming the macro factors. Micro factors have to be considered before you start blaming the macro ones.

But really, he is such a sore loser and unprofessional. He should probably go for some course that teaches him sportsmanship. ^_^

Parallel Parking - I suck at it! ^_^

Monday, October 6th, 2008

Parallel parking. I suck at it! Goodness. It is no easy feat and now I can really understand how come it is so hard for some of my frens to parallel park! ^_^ The amount of coordination needed is gosh just so tuff!

Had my lessons on Sunday and yday and gosh was it tuff. Spent the whole 100 minutes on Sunday morning doing that and the worst thing is that I genna the fierce Mr. Low who kinda chielded me for not doing it right. Everyone told me that it would be easy if you follow the steps. Yea it is easy when you follow the steps. But I tend to get confused when it comes to turning the steering wheel part! I can never visualize how the wheel is like and hence always end up making huge huge mistakes! = ( That totally suck lor coz I ended up being scolded to the max by Mr. Low! * Gosh *

And parallel park with manual? My goodness! Its even worse! I cant even feel my foot after class on Sunday coz the low speed control really kills me. And low speed control? Well, controlling it to go thru S and Crank Courses were alrights but when it comes to parking? Hmm..i wonder what happened? ^_^

After much constant practice last night, I finally managed to get the car into the lot but the getting my car straight thereafter is not there! ^_^ And well, I genna from Mr. Low like no others. * sighs* At times I get it but at times I just don’t. The main problem with me is my confusion with the steering after turning in. Moreover my low speed control isn’t there so that kinda screws things up for me! : ( Sads. That’s all I can say.

* Sighs * I wonder how vertical parking is going to be like lor. If it is going to be as tuff as parallel, well, my wish of getting a manual car would have to be abandoned already lor. Have to change to an auto car. However, if my vertical parking can make it, then I shall avoid ALL parallel lots at all costs! Hee hee..well that would probably be tuff coz I was just thinking to myself that there aint much parallel lots around but hey I was wrong. When I was in my dearest’s car on Sunday, I totally saw so many parallel parking lots around! * faints * So my wish of avoiding all parallel lots would be tuff then. : (

And I heard that its even more tuff when you park at normal car parks since there are no poles to guide you at all! Oh well, I guess I have to practise much more if I want to pass my driving test!
