Practice makes perfect! :D
Hmm…how time flies and I am already almost done with my driving lessons. Well not really since I am in the midst of my Stage 4 which has 4.02 and 4.03 to go and Stage 5.01 which is like a mock TP test. I am actually done with my Stage 3 including evaluation of all my circuit courses, including parking.
You all must have heard how I have complained about my parallel parking huh? Hm, my vertical parking aint that bad. Seriously it is actually easier than parallel. As my instructor puts it across to me, there isn’t so much movement to coordinate as compared to parallel. But then I still dinch do as well as I or my instructor expected me to. * sighs * Now that just sucks I guess.
However, I do realized that with practice, it helps! That would apply to my parking. : ) Remember how I complained so much about my parallel parking? Well, it is kinda improving right now with the lotsa practice that I had with my practicals. Right now I can actually get the car in much better and out much better as well. : ) And my vertical, well its like that lor. But hey practice does make perfect and I totally agree with that phase. Still remember how I totally suck when I first tried parallel and now with the practices, it is getting better.
I believed with much more practices, it would become so much more better. : ) So hopefully I can pass my TP test! * Keeping my fingers crossed *
Was trying auto car the other day coz as a student of the school, I have to go for like 2 auto car lessons as part of the requisities for manual car for TP test. Hm, not too sure if that is a gimmick from the school to earn the extra $130 from their students but hey at least I have a go at auto car. : ) Well well, I must say that it is really different from manual car totally.
Manual – Clutch in, 1st gear, release handbrake, biting pt –> off you go
Auto – release handbrake, step on brake, switch gear to D, release brake –> off you go
That is the huge difference and you must like always step on the brake to prevent accidental moving off by the car. Hm, that is totally different from manual since manual would have to remove the clutch then you can move off and at a super duper slow speed but auto is pretty fast I must say. Well, that is like the biting point of manual so it tends to move off after you release the brake.
Definitely auto cars are less troublesome as compared to manual since it only involves the accelerator and brake and you just have to always step on brake to slow down. And it is so much easier when it comes to the circuit, even parking! All you have to do is to step on brake. So basically there is no low speed control as compared to manual car and that saves your left foot from the tiredness. Hee hee..But wah, the speed is definitely scary man. Especially when you are going round a bend, it seems like there is no control! So much different from manual since you have to move on a low gear while going through a bend and you can feel the engine brake but for auto, there is no engine brake at all and you feel like it is very “loose” in that sense. I almost lost control of the vehicle when I was going through a bend which is TOTALLY SCARY!
And when you are moving at a fast speed and had to like totally stop, you have to step on the brake real hard. That is what happened to me when I was travelling on the road with a speed limit of 70km/hr! The traffic light just suddenly turns amber and since I was at the third arrow, I had to slow down and gosh, quickly remove my foot from the accelerator and move to the brake. Had to step on my brake like really hard so that the vehicle would totally stop. So there it goes screeching sound and way past the stop line! I can sense the other car drivers staring at me..hee hee..
Goodness. After that experience, I kinda felt that manual car is like much safer than auto man. So that probably confirms my confirmation for a manual car. And I am glad that I took a manual license than auto..hee hee
Manual is troublesome but it can be quite fun after you learn the technique behind it :D
I still have another lesson for auto car which is sloted for Sat’s morning. Hm, I had a really interesting instructor from another group for my previous auto lesson and hopefully my Sat lesson would be an interesting one. Hah.
