Another Courageous Soul. hee hee..:P

December 9th, 2008 by maddybiatch

Another courageous soul today lent me his car for a drive! Hee hee..well he is not my manager but rather a really nice and sweet colleague of mine! :D Hm, he did promised that he would let me drive his car once I passed my license even though I am not supposed to park! Hee hee..So I made the proposal to him this afternoon when we were going for lunch and he was so suan kuai to say OK without any hestitation! Woo hoo! :D

So I had my “virgin” drive on an auto car. Hee hee..well his was a Mazda 3 and auto. Hm, initially I think he was pretty worried when I drove coz he had the makeup mirror down on the passenger seat. I think he was like helping me to check the traffic behind lor. Lolx. So I had him at the passenger seat and another one of my female colleague at the back seat. Hm, seriously I think both of them are like really nervous when I drove, especially the passenger since it is his car.

No doubt there were so hiccups at the front as I wasn’t too sure of how to operate an auto car but hey it was definitely easier than a manual and stepping on the brake too hard doesn’t help. There will be jerking and you have to step on the brake early! So different from manual coz there is still some lack time before you can stop. But hey I got this theory in and very soon I was there. ;P

My colleagues were pretty impressed with me! Hee hee..they were like saying that I was quite zai for a first time driver since I was able to predict hazard in advance and I took care of all the safety like blind spots etc. :D

So peeps! I am not that bad lor! These two colleagues can like so vouch for me when my other colleagues said that I got my license coz I wore short skirt and low cut! Heh. Seriously peeps, I wasn’t even wearing any low cut that day! Moreover my skirt was like of a normal length lor. I dinch even like wear my super mini there lor! Lolx.

Hee hee..Am so happy when I was praised lor. But yet again, it is not my car so I cant really practise parking or stuff with it. But hey I have checked with my colleagues and they all said that I have to use the small triangle window at the rear to help me to park initially. After that it would be entirely up to feeling! So what I thought was correct! You really need a sighting point for beginners before you can really park lor. : ) But right now no one is daring enuff to lend me their cars to park. Haha..:P

So peeps, Maddy’s driving aint that bad hor! Dunch think that I got my license thru sulking, short skirts or low cut tops! Heh. I have substance which explains why the tester passed me lor. I dinch get the license out of nothing but rather thru my own skills! Heh. :P

Please do have some faith in me!! Haha..:P

And thank you very much Kenneth for being so sweet to lend me your car! :D Thank you very much for having the faith and confidence in me! :) I dinch fail you rite? hee hee..:D

My “Virgin” Drive

December 8th, 2008 by maddybiatch

Had my “virgin” drive this morning! Hee hee..Thank you CK for being so daring to lend me your car for my “virgin” drive! Hee hee..:P But hey it wasn’t that bad right?! :D Except for the parking maybe..Well you did manage to come back in one piece and most importantly your car as well! Haha..:P Really appreciated the kind gesture! :D

It was also my “virgin” drive in rainy weather! Well, it wasn’t that bad actually. It was much better than what I had expected. But again, the rain wasn’t like really really huge. It was okay. Just small downpour. So it was still visible but I still have to keep a safe following distance. Was a bit worried there.

My “virgin” drive on 5th gear as well! Hee hee :P had to shift to like 5th gear when I was driving on the expressway and I was so confused when I was told by CK to shift to 5th gear lor! Firstly I had no experience of changing to 5th gear since the max that we would go in school was till 4th gear. And the max speed that I would go on 4th gear is also 70km only. But hey I was travelling on AYE so I had to shift to 5th gear in order to travel at 90km which is the speed limit! As it was my first time I was like looking at the gear when I was shifting and it was scary for CK Lor! Hee hee..he had to like take hold of the steering when I was doing that! Lolx. Sorry to frighten you there CK! Hee hee..

So how did I feel? Hm, it was fun and exciting but a bit worrying and nervous for me as well since it is like my first time actually driving without my instructors and L plate. So it would mean that I am a qualified driver and I have to be real careful when I drive. Moreover it wasn’t like my car so there was a bit stressed there. Was like holding the steering real tight and sitting tensed in my seat. CK had to like tell me to relax man! Hee hee..:P But overall it was a good drive and I was quite okay on the road except for the staying on my lane while travelling on bendy roads. Coz I tend to move out of my lane. Guess the remedy to that is to look far so that I will do fine. But hey I was a bit worried and nervous when I was travelling on those roads. Coz I only travelled at 40km and on 3rd gear and not on 90km and 5th gear! It was a bit scary as I am worried about losing control of the vehicle lor. But this is something I definitely have to work on if I want to drive in future. :D Just need to work harder!

But hey one thing really sucks is vertical parking without poles! It is definitely TOUGH man! There are like no poles apperaing and disapperaing at the rear windscreen! Gosh! I was like at a loss of what to do! Now I can totally understand why some of my friends and colleagues are willing to let me drive their cars but not park! Haha..:P Coz it is really tuff without the poles! Goodness lor. I was like how to park man?! No turning point for me! So I asked CK and he told me it is by feeling! I am like “Huh? By feeling?” But bro, I fee nothing?! If I feel nothing, how do I park leh?! So by feeling doesn’t help, especially for peeps like me who have just gotten their licenses!

What I cant really understand is that why we cant apply the technqiue that we have learnt in school? I read from the school book that we just have to take the front two poles as the right and left sides of the bonnet of the two cars and then shift accordingly to the lot. But again, theres no cars that are as high as the poles lor. So you cant really totally apply that wholesale onto parking. =_= So that sucks. CK told me that what they taught in school is only taught to you to help you pass test. But I am like if it is not useful then why the hell they teach you in school? There must be some logic and sense to what they teach in school right? So I was totally lost. Until CK told me to look at the headlight of the car at the small rear window. When that appears, then you quickly turn the steering full to whichever direction you want to go. So I tried that and it works! Gave that like twice and it works! Hee hee..So he was like aiyoh must give you sighting point then you can turn. So I told him “Ya lah! Of coz! I got no feel leh, how to turn?” Lolx. So seriously for new drivers like me, I definitely need some turning point! If no tunring point, how am I to turn leh? Different drivers are different leh. And I am those who need turning point, otherwise I will be CLUELESS lor. Hee hee ;P

But CK did tell me that he aint going to teach me parallel parking. Hee hee..i think he almost lost his cool when I couldn’t quite comprehend what he was telling me when I was doing the vertical parking. Hee hee..sorry CK for dissing you off then. Hee hee ..:P I think it would be really tuff for parallel lor. Theres definitely no poles man! Hm, probably I should get like 3 frens to drive their cars and have two of them to stimulate a parallel parking for me eh? Haha..i think no one would be daring to do that! Unless they want to change their cars?! Haha..:P

Well, I guess I would need more practices before I can be really good in my vertical parking without poles! Lolx. -_- There is definitely a technique lor. Technique to everything. It applies to both parking as well. So somehow I have to decipher the techniques so that I can do both parking. :D

So peeps! It is definitely not as bad for Miss Maddy to be on the road lor. So please don’t be so mean eh! And always avoid me when I asked to test drive your car! Hee hee..:P You can ask CK if you are not sure! He said that I was quite alrights on the road, except parking maybe. Haha..:P But overall I am okay leh! ;P Worst still, my company’s operations asst gm made this comment “Aiyoh, another female driver on the road” Aiyoh please lor! So mean! Not all female drivers are bad hor! So evils of him! Excuse me, on that day when I passed my test, only 3 out of 10 who passed are male hor! Moreover those who genna really bad demerit points are GUYS! Heh. So please dunch be mean! Hee hee ;P

And peeps, please have some faith and confidence in my driving!! Since I can get my license, it means that I can drive which explains why TP passed me lor! Hee hee ;P

So whos going to lend me drive his car next huh?

* winks *

YAY! I have completed my first 21km marathon!! :D

December 7th, 2008 by maddybiatch

Had my first half marathon this morning! Hee hee..how do I feel? Hmm..right now my legs are actually aching..hee hee..especially my calf and thigh areas and also a certain part of my butt! :P

Hm, dinch ran 42km this year coz dinch have enuff time to train so ran 21km instead. Started my training somewhere in Oct but had never ran more than like 10km. I dinch even ran like last week coz was so busy with the revision lessons for my driving test.

Thought that I couldn’t make it for 21km but hey I did and I actually did much better than I expected! Hee hee..: ) As I was running with some of my colleagues, we actually targetted to reach before 11am and all the guys who took part with us were like laughing at us lor. So evils eh? But hey I managed to reached before 10am and the other ladies reached 10 minutes before me. Gosh. YAY! So all of us actually did much better than we expected and all of us felt so accomplished and proud of ourselves! :D It is indeed a personal achivement lor! I completed in about 3 hours and it was totally amazing running thru the finishing line.

Seriously it was really a mind over body thing! No denial that I spent a few km walking coz really wanted to give up. So told myself that I should walk in between and when I was like reaching the last few km, then I should run all the way. Hee hee..well that dinch quite happened as well since I was like running and walking and running and walking again. Somehow my legs wouldn’t listen to me and almost gave way! @_@ So decided not to take the risk and decided to rest and walk instead.

But hey there were like so many photographers at the end lor. All like taking pics of those who were running so I was being one of those being taken as well! Haha..wonder where all those pics gonna turn up and also how do I look! Haha..:P It was definitely a motivation to run when you know that there are photographers in front taking pics of you! Lolx. Think I heard a few clicks here and there from a few photographers! Haha..:P

AT the end, it was really a killa lor. So it was really really mind over body! Haha..:P

The most grueing part was when you are like left a few km and running along the F1 paddock area where the sun is like up in the sky already! It was around 9 plus and there wasn’t like any shelter or stuff! So it was so very HOT! The kind of feeling u get was like totally killing! Gosh! I wanted to just run through that area quickly and get out of the sun ASAP! It was totally HOT HOT HOT! And I was like imagining to myself how it would be like if I do not run and walked to the finishing line. It would even be worse when it is like 11am lor! That part was the KILLER man!

And running with a partner is indeed helpful as both of you would motivate each other to run and not give up. This is what happened to me at the beginning. Was running for almost like 4km with one of my colleagues and we just gave each other strength. But we kinda lost each other later on and when I was running later part, it was a bit demoralizing as I stopped and walked quite a bit since there wasn’t any partner to run with and no motivation there. So it helps to have a partner to run with.

But there is one thing which all of us including my colleagues couldn’t stand! There are like couples who took part the marathon and can you imagine them holding hands and strolling as if it is the New Paper Big Walk?! You can really die walking behind them lor. Moreover they take up like the middle lane and you cant really overtake them! And there are couples who hold hands while they ran? Goodness lor. If you want to run, just run lah. Being a couple doesn’t mean that you must hold hands and run mah. I had seen many couples who are like running w/o holding hands? Haha..:P CAN DIE! * faints * The worst are those who walk hand in hand as if they are at the Big Walk!

And even worse was that they ran out of water at the finishing point! Everyone was so pissed when told that they ran out of water! I was pissed man! You are like so dehydrated and they told you “Sorry but no more water.” What the crap! Seriously they should have gotten ready LOTS more water than expected. Heh.

But hey I really admired those who ran 42km lor! A female colleague of mine ran and she came back like in 5 hours’ time! GOSH! MY hero lor! Hee hee..:P Shes realy very zai leh. She completed in less timing that she has expected so she was so thrilled! And those guys who ran 42km all had a certain look to them. All are like skinny and quite alright looking and all are tanned! Haha..:P All looks so good. Haha..:P Those are like the profile to the 42km runners. Even the ladies are also quite athetletica looking! :D

How do I feel after running the marathon? A sense of accomplishment! :D And I am so glad to have taken part in it. Even though the legs kinda suck after running but hey it was definitely an experience and accomplishment! And everyone who ran all had the same look and feel. Haha..we went to Suntec for lunch thereafter and everyone who ran was like holding onto the railing and limping when they were like going up and down the stairs! Hee hee ;P

It was definitely worth it lor! And next year I am targetting to run 42km! And this would mean that I would have to train like at the beginning of the year so that I have the stamina to run 42km! :D Have already jioed one of my male colleagues and the 42km hero to run! And we all said OKAY! Hee hee..:P well you get a medal for completing the 21km but a really nice black addidas shirt that says that you have completed 42km at the back.

Gonna be another goal for myself to achieve for next year! :D So happy that I have accomplished 2 of my greatest goals in this same week that I have set for myself this year! : ) Felt so good man! :D

Standard Chartered Marathon 2009 – 42km here I come!!! :D

Number 40860!

Number 40860!

It’s my first and last. :)

December 5th, 2008 by maddybiatch

Okay peeps! It is official! Miss Maddy has been upgraded from a L-plate to a P-plate. I am now licensed to drive on Singapore roads!! : ) YAY!!!!! :D I am so very happy right now! Hee hee..well, finally the day has come for me to take on the TP test and I went for it this Friday morning at 11am! Hee hee..:P Finally u guys know when my test date is huh? Hee hee..:P

Hm, I did have some confidence of doing well for the test but dinch dare to put too much hope in it just in case I failed it. And every time after my revision, I would ask my instructor whether got chance mah and they would always said got potential but a few things to look out for. So I am very happy when I saw the word “passed” on my report slip!! :D

For the past few weeks I was praying pretty much that all the elements would be on my side. And hey today indeed everything was on my side! ;D

Firstly WEATHER! When I woke up this morning at 8am I was so happy to know that it was so bright and cherry! :D So was thinking to myself that it wont rain since the weather was really really fine!

Secondly TEST CAR! As I am a school student my test car is not like from the group of cars that I always used for revision. So it is like a random pick. And it happens that my test car was a car that I have driven before!! YAY! Actually I have driven it like twice. First was like few weeks ago and the second and last time was like on Monday! So I was so glad when I saw the no! It was 59! ;D So that helps. And I also believe in booking slots from another groups so that I can get to try different cars. As I am driving manual, biting point for different cars are like very different so it is important to get the one with the rite one. And I did for my test!

Thirdly TESTER! My tester was really alrights. A really nice guy who wasn’t stingy or anything like that. I was so worried that I would genna one who is like every lil thing would also penalize me. But this tester was really really nice! He even asked me to stay calm before we move off! :D And he wasn’t stingy at all! He even let me off when I kinda like turn when the traffic light turned amber. :D So I was lucky there even though I was reprimanded by him a bit.

Lastly TRAFFIC! As my slot is at 11am and on a Friday and school holiday, traffic was really good! Not so heavy and I even managed to change lane without much trouble! Hee hee..:P

SO all the elements were like on my side and I totally took advanatge of it! :D Looks like my prayers for the past few weeks hadnt gone to waste! :D

But the feeling of sitting for the test was really really nervous and scary! =_= I kept telling myself that I have to stay calm in order to do well for my circuit and everything on the road! :D If I do not stay calm and be kan cheong then everything would be wasted and screwed up which I would never let that happened! ;) So I did. I kept telling myself to imagine that the tester is like my instructor and I have to drive like I normally do. : ) So I did. I was able to stay really calm and do well for all my circuit items and road! :D

However, I do hate the feeling of going into this room to wait for our assigned tester and it was like a nightmare. Coz we had our warmup of the vehicle at about 10am and finished ard 10.40am. SO we pretty much have to sit down in that room for about 20min or so. Its like waiting for the death sentence to come like that. And it is especially during this time that you would feel all so nervous coz that is how I felt when I was waiting! And I had to keep telling myself to stay calm so that I can do well. : ) And I did. And everyone’s faces were like so tensed up! Hee hee..and I was the one in the room looking relaxed. Hee hee..have to definitely calm the nerves of steel man. ^_^

And the tester really plays a huge part man! I was really lucky to genna the car which I have driven before and also a nice tester! He was an old fella about 50++? Or even older? A grandfatherly looking figure. He even showed me the test route that was on the notice board! And when he saw me looking really stressed, he actually told me that I do not have to like remember the route as he would guide me and give me directions as we go along. : ) So he was really really nice! But hey when he was like talking to me, everyone who was queuing at the TP counter were like staring at us. So as usual I greeted him before he explained to me. And when we walked down the stairs he was actually taken aback when I asked him whether he has taken his bf. Hee hee..:P And when he got into my car, he was really really nice! He told me that driving is actually very easy. All you need is the right speed and judgement and always check blind spots. But most importantly is safety. So I was like wow. This instructor is really really nice. :D And he even told me to move off whenever I am ready. So very the nice! :D

And these days, the test is so advanced! The testers are like armed with a tablet PC and they assigned the various points etc on the PC! So advanced man! Goodness. I was shocked when I saw the tester having the PC. So what they do is they sit at the passenger seat, and when you have a mistake or something, they will then tab at their Pcs. So if you hear a tab sound or when you see them touch the PC then you know u have done something wrong. This is wat I observed lor. If the tester is like sitting peacefully in his seat without moving then you are alright. But if he is like tabbing on his pc, then u know something is wrong.

So when mine tabbed on his, I was like die! He tabbed like 3 times lor! There was one which he tabbed and when we stopped at the traffic light I actually took a peek and I saw it was a 6pt! When I saw that my heart sank! Was wondering how much points I got already. Darn. But hey I told myself not to be distracted and continued on since we are finishing the test and I should never get myself thinking about how many points I have gotten so far.

My tester was really really nice lor. When I did something wrong, he would immediately tell me on the spot. And there was this once when I hit the amber light, he actually told me that I was supposed to stop. And when he told me that, I was like “Die liao” coz hitting the amber or red light is like immediate failure lor. So at that time, my heart almost sank. But he didn’t tabbed on his PC. However I did not think too much of it since I still have half the route to go and I told myself not to think about it and continued on. So I did. :D

So I got a total of 14points. Darn. One of them was really uncalled for lor. The first one which I genna at vertical parking was so uncalled for. I have checked all blind spots before I do the parking. But who knows? When I was about to turn into the lot, the stupid motorbike trainee suddenly dashed into my lane! Darn. So there I earned the 4pt for failure to confirm safety. Sheesh man. It was like his fault lor and I genna! Darn. They are so reckless. The other cars in the circuit do let me cross when they see the On Test plate but not the bike trainees lor. Sheesh. So uncalled for man.

But hey everything went really well leh! All my circuit went good. My S was good even though I almost hit the kerb man! But managed to control well and avoid it. As for parallel, it was EXCELLENT! Hee hee..i managed to control well again and did a really perfect one in one try! No adjusting needed! Hee hee..: ) I was so very happy!! :D Those items that I wasn’t really good at I managed to do well. Hee hee..SO HAPPY! That totally boosted my confidence man!

So when I saw the PASSED word I was totally exhilarated!! Hee hee..that kind of feeling was so very shiok leh!! Goodness! It was even better than passing your O or A levels exams! Hard to describe! It is like after wasting so much time and money and effort and finally your hard work has paid off!! Hee hee..:D The feeling was really really GOOD! :D And I was so happy that I cant work when I went back to office. Hee hee..:P And was telling everyone about it! :D

And my manager was so sweet! HE bought me a P plate for passing my test! He is so nice lor. He had so much confidence in me man. :D Hee hee..told me that if I had failed then he would throw the P plate at me. Buut if I pass then he would pass to me which he did. Gosh, my boss is really sweet and he really has the huge confidence in me man. But hey he still doesn’t have the confidence in me driving his car lor. Lolx. ;p

Hence now I have my P plate and I am ready to hit the roads anytime man!! :D But seriously the feeling of passing is really really shiok man!! Dunch know wat to describe but it was totally SHIOK!! :D And I did get my license in my first try! YAY! :D and I am proud of it! :D When people asked me how many times I tried before I get my license, I can proudly said “ONCE!” hee hee ;P

And to tell u something I dreamt that I failed my driving test the nite before! I dreamt that I hit the kerb when I was doing parallel and it was immediate failure. Darn! So I woke up in cold sweat! Was so worried this morning man. So told myself that I should not be overly confident and stay calm since in my dream I was really kan cheong. Hee hee..:P

I have yet to driven my first ride after I passed. Think it will be on Monday morning when a dear fren of mine is willing to let me drive his manual car! YAY! :D Am so excited and cant wait! Think I will drive from Jurong West to Changi lor..haha..:P Though I am a bit worried also since I no longer have the L plate with me. Which also meant responsibilities and safety. Safety being very important element and I have to bear that in mind. : ) But hey I must have the confidence since TP passed me yah? :D That means I am right on the roads! :D

So peeps do look out for a new reflective P plate on Monday morning if you happened to be on the expressway from Jurong West to Changi! Hee hee..:P

Singapore roads here I come!!! :D

My Test Report

My temporary driving license (it is only a pc of paper lor)

Mummy dearest is the best!!!! : )

November 26th, 2008 by maddybiatch

It is true!!! My mummy dearest is sponsoring the car!! YAY! YAY! YAY! Haha..am so happy right now! Cant contain that huge excitement of mine!!! ^_^ But hor, have to wait till late Jan then can buy coz that’s where she has cash on hand. Apparently she had invested her money in some fixed deposit where she can only take out like 3 months later. And if I had told her like last mth, I would be able to buy me car after I get my license, that is if I pass the test lah..ahaha..:P Apparently she had placed this cash in some fixed deposit for a few years lor so cant take that money out.

She somemore can tell me “Aiyah you should tell me earlier mah. Then I wouldn’t have put that money in the bank. Then you can buy.” She even wants to cash and carry lor! OMG! * faints * hee hee..But I told her no need lah. She can pay for upfront payment a bit a bit then the rest I loan from bank lor! Aiyoh she also a bit crazy lor. I also dunch want to eat into her retirement funds lah. So no way am I going to let her cash and carry even though that is a really nice idea! Hee hee..:P But hey paying half for the car is good enuff!! :D

But then I have to fetch her to and fro from work. But hey it was no problem since it is on the way for me to work. But hey even if it isnt, I will still fetch her lor. She is like half of the owner leh! Hee hee..:P I think she is loving the idea of being fetched around and hence shes okay with getting a car. : ) She loves being fetched around lor. Can still remember how happy she was when my ex was like fetching her around!

She did ask me to go get a  2nd hand car and a small one will do. When I told her that it was around 49K which is like the Swift Sports that I want to buy, she is like how come so expensive coz her ex colleague only got one for like 30++K. So I told her that I am getting the higher capacity one so that there is more power and can move faster. Hee hee..:P Faster car better mah. : )

She did ask me like how much I need for upfront payment lor. If it is anything more than half of the value of the car, then she is not able to pay but hey it is more than enuff lor!! WOOS!! :P I am so tempted to like get a 20 over K car so that I can dunch hav to pay so much for monthly installment lor. But then those car are like Kia Picanto and Hyundai Getz which are totally problematic for 2nd hand and also only 1.1L which is a bit slow. So let me stick to my Swift sports!! :D Gonna use this car for like quite some time so it would be better to get a higher capacity one and also a trustworthy brand! :D

Think was influenced by my colleague and now am thinking twice about the Swift though. Thinking of getting the Colt Turbo Type R. which is like really fast!! And the white one somemore! Saw this white one on the road like last year and I totally fell in love with it. But then, it is like a mini MPV even though it is fast. So that kinda puts me off a bit coz I dunch quite like its chunky shape. Oh well, think I’ll stick to my Swift Sports! :D

Am tempted by the white color one though even though I said that I wanted the yellow one. Coz white one is quite nice also. And if I change the bonnet to carbon fibre, it would look so damn pretty lor! Like one of my colleagues son’s car. So outstanding and nice. If I change my yellow one, then theres nothing outstanding about it. But my colleagues did said that since I am such a sunshine person, yellow is more suitable for me as compared to white since white is like more modern while yellow is for sporty. : ) And since I am sporty, I should stick to yellow! They can pictue me in the bright yellow but not white. Hee hee.. ^_^

She asked me go find out how much is the upfront lor. Goodness I am so bloody excited now!! YAY! But gonna wait till like after CNY then can buy lor. Hmm..hey I don’t mind that! But hor, just now she was like nagging at me to go find a bf lor. Gosh! Almost fainted when she nagged. But hey any nagging for the car man!! Hahaha :P

My god!! I AM SO HAPPY LOR!! Hee hee..:P So now the only step left is to pass my test and get my license! Lets hope everything goes well. If not, it would have to wait. But then again, if I have to wait, it would be just nice for me to buy my car then! Haha..:P But I do want to like drive my parents during CNY coz we need to go like Hougang which is really far. Would be nice if I can drive them there. Easier for all of us. If am going to drive then, then would need to rent a car and with my just passed license I think it is a bit tuff to go rent a car. So probably would need to go ask frens of mine to go help me rent. Coz need to have a clean record for at least 1 year lor. ^_^

Okay last step to go which is my license. : ) Lets hope everything goes well. Gosh!! I am so excited now that I cant contain the excitement!! WOO HOO!!!! :D

Mummy dearest is still the very very best!! : )

* Worry *

November 21st, 2008 by maddybiatch

Less than a month to my TP test and certain elements worry me.

First – weather. Till date I have yet to drive in a rainy weather. Hm is it a good or bad thing? Seriously I don’t really know but I would very much prefer to have driven on a rainy day! Coz my test is like in Dec where many peeps said that it is actually the rainy season so it might actually rain on my test date. Gosh. I am hoping that it wont but if it does, there is nothing I can do. Driving in rainy condition is different from driving on a real sunny day or even at nite! I have heard my instructors saying that if you can drive at night, then driving in the day would not be much of a problem since visibility is very much lower at night. But on a rainy day, it is totally different from at night. So every time that I am going for my lesson, I am like praying real hard that it will storm! But well luck is not wif me. It will be either the rain has stopped or right after my lesson. * sighs * Cant it just rain for once really really heavy during one of my lessons so that I can have the experience? I wouldn’t want to really experience it on my test! Am so keeping my fingers crossed about that.

Second – my circuit courses. My parallel is improving every time I go for my lesson but other courses such as directional change and S-course kinda suck now. Particularly directional change. Dunch know why but somehow I suck in it. Weird coz it was never a big problem for me. It was sorta a problem but was much lesser than parallel. Somehow it is the reverse now. Don’t know what really happened but I am just so not zai with it lor. And my vertical parking. That also sucks. Hmm..i think it is somehow linked to directional change so when I suck at the latter, I suck at the former too. Vertical parking would be the moving more to the right before reversing. This is to prevent from hitting the kerb when reversing. But hey somehow I don’t know why I cant seem to be able to position to the super right. Heh.

Third – changing lane. Have been taught the lil tips and techniques to change lane but somehow I still suck. The worry of being knocked and stuff like that kinda make me suck at this part. * sighs * When I want to change lane, I did my usual safety checks but somehow am worried that the car behind me wouldn’t let me change to his lane. I would only dare when the car is like way back behind. But when he is like 2 cars away from me, I would be kinda worried. Sighs. If this fails, then I would really suck at my test lor coz this is like a crucial part of driving. : (

* sighs * am glad that I still have some time before my test. So I still have time to brush up on the above lacking skills. I just have to keep practising and practising lor. Nothing much I can do since now it is entirely up to me and no one can help me. All my instructors can do is to offer me techniques and lil tips to help me do better. Other than that it would be entirely up to me.

One point I do realize is that once you have learnt “how to drive” in a sense, the instructors are more relaxed now. Hee hee..well, that’s how I feel of my instructors. They tend to worry less about you hitting other cars etc. Hm, they do worry lah. But less now I think coz in a way you sorta know how to drive now as compared to the very beginning when you are still trying to learn how to function a car. So most of them are like more laid-back at the passenger’s seat. Relaxing and enjoying the bumpy ride. Well, at least that is for mine. Haha..:P Chit chatting to yer. But always on the constant alertness that if anything will to come out suddenly they will be all ready to brake or advise you accordingly. So who said that guys cant multi-task? I think this particular group can! Hee hee ;P

Oh well, so now its practise, practise, practise and hopefully I will improve over time! :D

I let my car roll back further to frighten him more! * evil grin *

I did a horrible thing last night. @_@

As you all have known, I am already done with all my stages for driving and undergoing revision right now. So as per usual I went for my driving last night and it was like a week since I last drove. It was like a bit of getting used to. Hm, I guess I was really right in planning lots of revision lessons before my test since I felt kinda alienated when I was on the wheel last night. Felt a bit strange.

Anyways, was on one of my test routes, somewhere in Bukit Batok I think. Not too sure which route but I do remember it was near some community centre. Apparently there was a down slope and I dinch realize it. So I was like stopping there and waiting for the traffic to clear before I can move off to my left turn. There my car was rolling back slightly when I let go of my brake. Oops. Apparently there was this car behind me and I think he was like really near my rear. So immediately he honked at me when my car rolled back! Oops. Immediately I panic a bit and stepped onto my brake to prevent further rolling back. Then I took a glance at my rear mirror and I saw the P plate on his car. Hm, this guy is like a P plate and the way he honked at me was like really loud and fierce lor! Goodness.

So the next thing I did was really naughty and mean. ^_^ Seeing that he was a P plate and being so unfriendly to me, I immediately let go of my brake slightly to let my car roll back more to frighten him! Haha…so immediately he honked at me even louder and I think he tried to reverse a bit! Haha..:P * evil grin *

The instructor in my car was like shaking his head and kept telling me not to be naughty to frighten the driver lor. ;P Then the traffic was cleared and I was supposed to move off. So I moved off slowly. Seeing the driver was still behind me, I purposely drove real slowly so that he would be so irritated by me! Haha…Well, he can’t overtake me since we are in a bend and on a one lane road. And there were like cars passing by on the other side consecutively. I guess he was like so irritated by me lor…Hee ;P

As for my instructor, he just kept shaking his head and kept telling me not to be naughty to drive so slowly. Haha…After the bend, I looked up at my mirror and the car was no longer there. I guess he must be damn irritated by me. Haha :P Oh well, too bad for him. Who asked him to honk at me so loudly and fierce leh? :P Heh.

I think I will be a mean driver in future lor. Probably it’s due to all those bad habits that my male colleagues have passed on to me…haha…

So if you guys do see car no 37 to 39 on the roads outside BBDC, Chua Chu Kang, Teck Whye or Bukit Batok at about 8 plus at night on weekdays and in the morning before 12pm on weekends, do take a peek in the driver’s seat. Hee hee :P

If it’s me in there, please be nice. Don’t honk at me angrily or tailgate me. Coz you were once a L-plate as well. So must treat L-plate nice and not mean. Think of those times when you were a L-plate and not forget all about it now that you have already obtained your license. ^_^

“It is in early dec..” :)

“How is your driving?” “Have you booked your TP test?” “When is your TP test?” These are the common questions that I get these days.

Well, I have cleared my Stage 5 evaluation last week and this meant that I am on my way to revision lessons and preparation for my TP test in Dec. Seriously I have yet to tell anyone the date of my TP test coz one of my colleagues, who is my neighbour at work actually told me that it is a curse to tell peeps the date of your TP test! He said that if you go round telling peeps the date of your TP test, then you would end up failing. So I have decided to stick to his advice and kept all mum when I am asked about the date! Hee hee…all I said was “In early Dec lor. “ I dinch even tell my manager about it! And to think that I have to take leave to go for it when the time comes! ^_^ So far I think I have only told my mum about it but seriously I don’t think she even remembers it lor. Coz she kinda got a very bad memory one…hee hee…So till date think only me, she and my driving instructors know about it! Haha..:P

Aint telling on my blog when the exact date is also. Haha…coz that would only meant that I have gone around telling peeps about it! So it will be in “early dec” lor…hee hee..:P

Superstitions? Do I believe in them? Actually not quite. But for this case, it is better to believe in them! Hee hee :P I was even told by some of my instructors to go to the temple to pray before my test. He said that you will never know what will happen on the day itself coz you might be really that suay lor to have everything to go wrong for yer! Hmm…I am definitely heading that advice of his and probably I will get my mum to go down and pray for me. :P

I am actually looking forward to my test! Can’t wait for it to be here coz I really wanna get my license lor. I hope to get it within my first try coz I wouldn’t want to spend any more $ and also the waiting time. The last I checked the dates, the earliest for now would be in late Jan. So if I were to fail my test (which I hope not!), I would probably get my re-test date like in late Feb or early March lor. Gosh that would be so late lor. * sighs * Guess my instructors would probably faint if they see me again. Hee hee..:P So I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will get my license in my first attempt.

Am so looking forward to driving my frens’ and all those who are concerned who have a car…hee hee..:P Cant wait to get myself on the actual roads but I think that will be a totally different experience as compared to driving on a L plate. Heard from past experiences that actual driving is really scary since peeps don’t really give way to you and stuff. Hmm…And as for my Swift after my license? Well aint too sure if I am still getting that with all the financial crisis now. My mum? Not too sure if she is still willing to get me the car since that promise was way before the crisis and now the crisis is here, not too sure what she is thinking about lor. Was told that it is a good time to go get a car now since the prices are low for cars and the COE as well. But hey, there are many things to actually consider if you have a car lor. A lot of stuff that have to be given up since cars are liabilities…hee hee..:P

Oh well, I shall think about it after I get my license. It is definitely too early to think all about that now huh? ;P It would be nice to have since my parents have been all wanting for me to fetch them around. ^_^

Now just wish me luck for my test! * keeping fingers crossed *

My First Half-Marathon @_@

November 10th, 2008 by maddybiatch

I can still remember how I used to tease one of my ex-colleagues when he told me and my other colleagues that he is taking part in the Standard Chartered marathon 2 years back. How I was like “aiyoh why so stupid to go find yourself such trouble?” But hey guess what? I am now taking part in the upcoming marathon! Hee hee..:P Well, just to calm you guys outta there. No I am not taking part in the full 42km but rather 21km. :)

So why did I make this “silly” mistake since I commented that once to peeps who took part in it? Well, I just it had always been like a wish of mine to actually run in a marathon and when I found out my colleagues were like taking part in the AHM few months back, I was like “Why didn’t you guys jio me?” Hence I missed out that chance totally and when I was informed by them that they were taking part in the Stan Chart one, I have decided to join as well. Well, sorta like an ownself achievement I guess. : )

Just something that I really want to push myself to do it. Kinda find that my life is getting a bit boring since most of my frens are like getting married and attached and I am also beginning to give my party life a miss as I am growing old! Can’t really keep up to that momentum anymores…hee hee..:P So decided to really do something healthy. Hee hee ;P

Have been like training for it since Oct. Have especially went to buy a pair of running shoes and the running attires to make myself geared up for the run! Training had been difficult since I am trying to juggle between driving lessons and training after work during weekdays. And weekends, well I tend to only run on Sunday since I will be going out on Saturday with frens etc. And only I can only run like longer distance on weekends since I can start the run early. It would be like late after I get home from work on weekdays.

Training had been pretty good so far. And occasionally I would even go for runs with my colleagues who are taking part in the marathon. : ) Kinda like training together lor. Mainly went to NTU for runs since it is nearer to my company and also the place to run there aint too bad. Saw some really athletic guys running at the sports complex when I was there two weeks back! Hee hee…and my guy colleague was like asking me to look at the amazingly cute ones and told me that he felt so pai s e h when he saw those fit physiques of them! Ahaha..:P I myself felt like I was a student there in my running attire and even worse, thereafter when I wore my Havianas..haha…felt like I was staying at the hall there..:P

And my colleague can even suggest that I can run home after my driving lesson since I do not have much time left to train! Gosh. I was like “Okay, I can run home. But what about my things leh? Ask my instructor to drive my things home meh?” haha..that is totally hilarious lor. Well, it might be a good thing for me to run home since I will be able to cover a longer distance for my marathon but seriously how about my stuff? And also I cant imagine myself in running gear running home after lesson lor. That would be so weird! I can imagine the kind of stares that I would get at the centre not only from the instructors but from the rest of the peeps there! Haha..:P I would say it is a good suggestion but hey I aint gonna do it lor..ahaha..:P

Have to really run more now since the marathon is drawing near. It is on 7th dec and I have like only one month to train. Moreover, my driving test is like in early Dec and all my weekdays for 2 weeks before the test are like fully booked with my driving practicals. So I can’t really go for training like then and might really have to work hard now.

Well it is really tough running. Coz I ran like a long distance yday, from my place to Jurong East. Almost wanted to give up. But running is actually a mind-over-body kind of issue. You have to really persevere and tell your body not to give up. And setting targets are really important since it really gives you the motivation to carry on.

Hmm…wish me luck for the upcoming marathon! :D Am training very hard to avoid appearing on the headlines of the papers the next day after the marathon…hee hee..:P But hey if I really did manage to complete the marathon, which I am praying very hard to, I will feel so satisifed and accomplished! : ) And probably I would even sign up for next year’s! :D Just something that I wanna push myself to accomplish. : )

“The Volleyball Girl”

November 5th, 2008 by maddybiatch

Just found out last night that I was known as “The Volleyball Girl” by my group’s driving instructors! Lolx. So funny lor. And no I do not carry a volleyball when I go for my lesson. Hah. :P

Went for my driving last night and on Monday and it happened that it was the same instructor for both nights. So had my evaluation which is Stage 5 on Monday and I passed! YAY! Somehow I managed to do pretty well for my circuit and road. : ) Hee hee..well that’s something to cheer up. So somehow I genna the same instructor again last night and as usual, were chit chatting to him.

Were talking about some stuff and somehow we mentioned about my other instructor in the group. Happened to be the very first instructor who taught me for driving, Mr. Toh. : ) So dunch know what they were talking about then he mentioned to him about me. Mr. Toh was like asking him who it was and my instructor for the night told him “Oh..that one who played volleyball lor.” Mr Toh was like “Oh..that one huh..”

Mr. Toh..someone who doesnt speak much when he teaches me..always laugh secretly when i do something stupid or say something silly..he, knowing that its me when my instructor said “the one who played volleyball”..hee hee..i am seriously surprised that he know its me. Coz i thought he wouldnt remember me lor..haha..:P So he does actually..:)

So there it is. I am known as “The Volleyball Girl”. Haha..i was amused really so I asked him how would they know it’s me. But he just told me that amongst them, they just said “the one who plays volleyball lor” and the whole bunch would know its me! Haha..so amusing. I dinch know I have such a nick amongst the instructors. :P

Well, I guess its due to my tan which explains why they are calling me that. Coz every time I go for lesson and if it is a new instructor, he would definitely ask me why I am so tanned or I play a lot of sports etc..Then I would say coz I go to the beach and play beach volley at times and hence the tan. That is like the common question I get every time I have a new instructor lor. Coz I had it only on Sat when I had a new instructor teaching my auto lesson.

The volleyball girl? Haha..that is very funny. I did ask him like whether I am the only one in our group that is tanned and he said yeah..there’s this other guy who is tanned as well and he is in dragon boat. But for girls, I am the only one. I guess that’s probably why I stand out amongst the rest..ahah..moreover I always chit chat with my instructors during my lessons. Coz seriously I cant stand driving 100 minutes without saying a single word. @_@

I guess its not really common for Chinese girls to be so tanned and sporty huh? Coz every time I walked past the group of instructors, the whole bunch would like stare at me. Gosh. So scary lor. They must be thinking to themselves “How come this girl is so tanned? Is she like malay or something?” hahaha..:P

Interesting finding..hee hee..:P Oh well, it is a good thing that I am remembered as “The Volleyball Girl” and not as “The Girl who Doesn’t Know How to Drive” or “No matter how I teach, this girl never improves or learns”..haha..those nicks would even be worse!

Hence I would prefer to be called “The Volleyball Girl” than anything else! Hah!
